Vodafone, Orange, Telekom, I am at the center of an absolutely amazing announcement regarding clients in Romania, and this is because 2018 seems to have been quite atypical for such a technologically advanced country. ANCOM published yesterday the statistics regarding the evolution of the mobile, fixed, or television market in Romania, and for RCS & RDS, and the rest of the telecom giants, there are some extremely interesting news, but also surprising for our country.
RCS & RDS. We start with television, because TV subscriptions registered a 3% increase in the total number, reaching 7.64 million customers in Romania, apart from the growth, a migration from DTH to cable, or IPTV, was also recorded. In the urban environment, cable networks predominate, and in the rural environment it is equal to DTH, but it is interesting that the leader on the TV market, most likely RCS & RDS, had 49% of the market at the end of 2018, the main competitor having only 19% of the total subscribers.

RCS & RDS. 22.7 million active users of mobile networks were registered at the end of 2018, up 1% compared to 2017, and 12.7 million of them had subscriptions, while 9.9 million had cards. It is interesting that the total number of minutes spoken in 2018 through RCS & RDS, or other operators, decreased by 1% to 68 billion minutes, the monthly average per user being 4 hours and 49 minutes spoken, plus 57 SMS_s sent , which shows that people probably use messaging apps more.
RCS & RDS. On the other hand, roaming voice traffic increased by 58% compared to 2017 thanks to the possibility to use the benefits of subscriptions not only in Romania, but also abroad. Among all the telephone services that registered increases in roaming, the Internet has the biggest increase, of 149%, and in terms of market shares, the leader had 39%, the main competitor 30%, and the rest 31%, RCS & RDS being included in the latter category.
RCS & RDS. In 2018, the telecommunications market in Romania had a very interesting evolution, especially in terms of mobile telephony, but perhaps to a certain extent this was to be expected.
