RCS & RDS. Telekom, Vodafone, Orange they are the promoters of a very important change for Romania in 2019, and this is a natural evolution of things for the era of technology in which we live at the moment. The year 2018 was one in which the Internet was used more and more by Romanians who subscribed to RCS & RDS, and other telecom companies, while the number of phone calls decreased, and in 2019 the trend will continue.

According to those from ANCOM, in 2018 the internet traffic registered in Romania increased by 149% compared to the same period last year, so not only did it double, but it also increased more than that. It is very easy to understand why this happened, since RCS & RDS offer tens of GB of free internet at 4G speeds, even if they are low, and Orange, Vodafone, and Telekom have started to do the same for their customers.

RCS & RDS. Mobile internet is no longer a "luxury" in Romania, as it was just a few years ago, but has become a "common good", something that everyone has, and in large enough quantities to cover almost any kind of need. In general, those who use prepaid cards have unlimited mobile internet traffic, but at RCS & RDS, or even at Telekom, including those with subscriptions, they enjoy either unlimited traffic or enough traffic to not consume it.

In 2019, we managed to have not only unlimited minutes, but also "discretionary" mobile internet traffic, and this can be fully seen in the statistics regarding the consumption made by customers in Romania at the moment. Everything was possible because RCS & RDS started offering traffic in very large quantities a few years ago, and customers left Orange, Vodafone, Telekom, so the latter came up with competing offers to stay relevant.
The traffic of calls made in roaming increased by 58% compared to 2017, that of received calls by 28%, that of SMS by 23%, the biggest increase, of 149%, being recorded by data/internet traffic.
RCS & RDS. The current trend will continue in 2019, and even if we will not have a 149% increase in mobile internet traffic, I think there is a good chance that we will see a doubling, this before the 5G networks are launched.
