iPadOS. The new operating system was officially announced by the Apple company during this evening, confirming a rumor that appeared just a few hours before the conference, also confirmed by the website. iPadOS brings some of the biggest changes to date for iPad tablets, and that's why it was moved into a separate operating system, so it will be distributed separately from iOS 13 for iPhone, starting this year.
The main screen and multitasking
iPadOS brings for users the possibility to see widgets in the main applications screen, but also the possibility to see the applications in the background in a new task switcher format for multitasking.
The option to open the same application 2 times in the same screen, iPadOS offers this although in the past iOS did not have options of this kind for users.
iPadOS brings to iPad tablets a function called "spaces", it being combined with "app expose", which allows easier viewing of applications open in the background, both for native applications and for third-party applications.
Files
For the files application, there is an interface similar to the Finder in Mac, allowing the display of detailed information about files, including meta data.
For iCloud Drive, the possibility to share files is also offered.
Support for SM file sharing is also implemented.
To complete things, Apple offers in iPad OS the possibility to access files from USB sticks or SD cards. The cameras are not forgotten either, the pictures from them can be accessed very quickly even from third-party applications.
Safari
iPadOS finally brings the possibility to view websites in the desktop version, not in the version for mobile phones, everything being done automatically, and optimized for touches.
Safari also has a download manager, as the rumors told us, but also 30 keyboard shortcuts.
Apple Pencil
The latency for the Apple Pencil is reduced in iPadOS by the Apple company, and reaches only 9ms, the smallest of all accessories of this kind.
