Sony. The Japanese company wants to regain the place it once held on the smartphone market, and to do that it thought it would be good if it made a truly revolutionary phone to amaze the whole world. In this idea, the people from Sony thought of producing a phone with a screen that runs, something we have never seen before on the smartphone market, and something that would surely amaze many people.
Sony. The Japanese phone was thought of as a competitor for Samsung GALAXY FOLD, or Huawei MATE X, so we are talking about something that is not easy to produce, but which will definitely be in the attention of the whole world. Sony would like to launch this phone with a rollable screen sometime in the fall of this year, in December, or maybe even at the beginning of 2020, but everything depends on how it will be prepared for launch.

Sony. The phone in the testing phase has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7250 chip, a 3220 mAh battery, a camera with up to 10X zoom, the rollable screen being produced by LG, and you can see above how it would work. That screen is produced by Samsung, but the basic idea is the same, the screen rolling around the case of the future Sony phone, the dimensions of the phone after rolling being very small.
Sony. In the final version, the phone would have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, plus an X50 modem from Qualcomm, so we are talking about top specifications for the device with a rollable screen. Those from Sony are currently trying to complete the development process for this smartphone model, and until it is ready, it will not be launched, in order to avoid unpleasant surprises like those of Samsung and Huawei.
Sony. Having said that, expectations are very high for the new Japanese phone model, but it remains to be seen when it could be launched.
