Huawei P40 PRO launch may bring Harmony INSTEAD of Android

Huawei P40 PRO could be launched with a new operating system called Harmony, instead of Android, this is what a brave move the Chinese have made for the phone.

Huawei P40 PRO harmony

Huawei P40 PRO is currently in full development process with a view to launch, and this despite all the sanctions that have already been imposed in the USA against the Chinese company by Donald Trump. Although it is possible that the Huawei P40 PRO will not be launched with the Android operating system pre-installed, there is still a possibility that a new operating system, called Harmony, will be part of the phone, according to some recent information.

Huawei P40 PRO could have this new Harmony operating system instead of Android, the name being registered at the Office for Intellectual Property in the European Union just a few weeks ago. The application for registration of this name specifies that Harmony could be used for operating systems for mobile phones or computers, so the Huawei P40 PRO could reach the market with this software pre-installed for users.

Harmony could replace Android on the Huawei P40 PRO in 2020

Huawei P40 PRO was rumored until now to launch with a new operating system that will replace Android and will be called Hongmeng, but here it is possible that the real name is actually Harmony, and not another. This week, however, the president of the company's board of directors stated that the replacement operating system for Android, developed by its engineers, is not yet ready for mobile phones, but for other products.

The Huawei P40 PRO could end up with this operating system only if the sanctions imposed in the USA are not lifted by Donald Trump, which for now we do not know if it will happen or not. The USA has announced that certain companies will be able to request a license to do business with the Chinese, so in theory Google should also be able to license Android for installation in new phones, as well as future updates.

The situation is very complicated, and some phones have already had their launches postponed by the Chinese due to problems in the US, others may appear if things are not resolved in the meantime.
