PREMIERE RCS & RDS, Vodafone, Orange, Telekom For ALL of Romania

RCS & RDS, Vodafone, Orange, Telekom have officially announced a major premiere for all of Romania, here's what changed in 2019 for customers in the country.

RCS & RDS premiere in Romania

RCS & RDS, Vodafone, Orange, Telekom registers in 2019 a very important premiere for all of Romania, something that some have known for some time that it would happen, but something that others see only now as a big change. We are talking about the fact that ANCOM officially announced that in 2019, for the first time, RCS & RDS, and the other companies, have more customers with subscriptions than with prepaid cards in Romania.

RCS & RDS, and the other companies, succeeded in 2019 in securing the loyalty of so many of their customers with cards that they overcame the barrier of insecurity from previous years, and their number became higher than it was in previous years. According to those from ANCOM, in the first half of 2019 RCS & RDS, and the rest of the companies, had 22.3 million active users of mobile telephony services, down 1.6% compared to the first half of 2018.

PREMIERE RCS & RDS, Vodafone, Orange, Telekom For ALL of Romania

RCS & RDS, plus the rest of the telecom environment, had 9.7 million natural persons with subscriptions, 3 million legal persons, and 9.5 million prepaid cards, so there is a rather large discrepancy. It comes from the fact that there are better and better subscription offers for customers, especially at RCS & RDS, which has now started a special porting campaign for legal entities, and this will bring them even more customers in 2020.

"The first thing in mobile telephony is that, in the segment of individuals, the number of subscription cards has exceeded that of prepaid cards. In the first half of this year, there were 22,3 million active mobile users (-1,6%), of which 9,7 million were individuals on a subscription basis, 3 million were legal entities on a subscription basis and 9,5 million (-4,5%) users based on active prepaid cards.”

RCS & RDS is not one of the big mobile phone operators in Romania, on the contrary, it belongs to the small category, having a market share less than half that of Orange. On the other hand, RCS & RDS keep stealing customers from Orange, Vodafone, Telekom through porting, and they all come on subscriptions, and the trend in 2019 shows us that people no longer want cards.

RCS & RDS, Vodafone, Orange, Telekom manage to change the preferences of Romanians, who now prefer to use subscriptions instead of cards, in the vast majority, even without considering legal entities.
