Android is constantly attacked by hackers, who take advantage of any kind of "loophole" to exploit the phones of users who are careless and install any kind of applications, including from the Google Play Store. In September, Google deleted 24 applications full of malware called "Joker" from their store, registering over 500.000 downloads on Android phones before being completely removed from the Play Store.

Android has been the focus of a group of hackers that Google has been following since 2017, initially the attacks were based on SMS fraud to steal users' money through simple messages of this kind. The attacks against Android then moved to their websites, and there the money was taken from the users when they accessed them and entered their phone number, but everything was based on the exploitation of the operating system created by Google.

Android also had other functions of the operating system exploited so that users were left without money, including when they tried to cancel subscriptions made automatically by malware applications, which were not cancelled. Android was exploited in almost all possible ways by the "Joker" malware, or at least that's what Google claims after it managed to analyze very well the way the software works in phones.

"They have at some point used just about every cloaking and obfuscation technique under the sun in an attempt to go undetected. Many of these samples appear to be designed specifically to attempt to slip into the Play Store undetected and are not seen elsewhere. At peak times of activity, we have seen up to 23 different apps from this family submitted to Play in one day. At other times, Bread appears to abandon hope of making a variant successful, and we see a gap of a week or longer before the next variant."

Android is vulnerable to these attacks because Google offers a lot of freedom for developers from all over the world, and they take advantage as much as they can of what they have at their disposal from the Americans. The biggest problems are discovered and the hardest by those from Google, many of these applications having a lot of downloads before they are removed from the Play Store, and so many Android users are affected by them.
