The coronavirus brings another unprecedented measure to Romania, more precisely, the suspension of all football matches in Romania until March 31, so regardless of whether they are from League 1 or Futsal League, all soccer matches are suspended.

The coronavirus brought the ban on public gatherings of over 1000 people over the weekend, which brought us matches without spectators, but now the FRF has taken the decision to suspend them altogether to prevent the virus from spreading even further in Romania.

"Considering the epidemiological danger posed by the COVID-19 virus and taking into account the decisions taken in recent days by the National Committee for Special Emergency Situations, the Romanian Football Federation has decided to suspend all competitions until March 31 2020.

The Romanian Football Federation believes it has a duty to protect the family of Romanian football and to actively participate in the measures recommended by the Romanian Government and international authorities to protect public health. Thus, following a meeting that took place today at Casa Fotbalului and the consultations held with the affiliated members, the management of the FRF, through an Emergency Committee, decided today, March 12, to suspend all football competitions, men's and women's, as well as futsal, organized in Romania.

Therefore, League 1, League 2, League 3, Women's League 1, Women's League 2, Women's League 3, Futsal League 1, Futsal League 2 and county level competitions will be postponed until March 31. Depending on the evolution of the situation at the national level, this decision may undergo changes. The decision comes after two days ago the FRF decided to suspend all competitions for children and juniors, and on Wednesday, March 11, the final tournament of the Romanian Futsal Cup was also postponed."
