Thousands of FREE NOW Races Donated by Romanians for Medical Staff

FREE NOW announces today that more than 3000 races have been donated by Romanians through their platform to support the medical staff and auxiliary staff who are present in hospitals to take care of people infected with the Coronavirus, and not only that.

FREE NOW also says that more than 500 cars are equipped with protective panels for drivers, as you can see in the video above, and of course donations can still be made for those interested in helping the medical staff and auxiliary staff.

"Romanians have so far donated more than 3.000 free rides through the FREE NOW (Clever) application for medical and auxiliary personnel who are actively involved in fighting the coronavirus and managing the state of emergency in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. Through the Heroes section of the FREE NOW app, they can order rides and travel for free during the state of emergency, based on their work ID. Anyone who wants to support doctors can donate rides at free-now.com/heroes, and to make the races safe, FREE NOW is equipping 500 volunteer driver cars with panels that separate the front and back seats.

"In this difficult period, it is gratifying and appreciable that Romanians show solidarity and are with the doctors on the front line in the fight against the coronavirus, which is also seen in the large number of donated races. At FREE NOW we want all doctors to be able to ride for free during the state of emergency and we are doing everything we can to make the races safe. That's why 500 protective panels are in the process of being installed in the cars of the drivers who volunteered to run races for doctors," said Anca Gherle, Public Affairs Manager at FREE NOW (Clever).

The FREE NOW initiative is part of a broad approach, carried out in all ten European countries where the group operates – Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Poland, Romania, Austria and Sweden. On a local level, the company has also concluded a partnership with the Student Association of the Bucharest Polytechnic University, so that those who want to support doctors have more options to donate races, on the platform dedicated to the initiative or directly through the association.

The donated amounts can ensure more races, but also financial support for the volunteer drivers, for fuel expenses and for masks, disinfectants and gloves necessary to run the races in the safest possible conditions. At the same time, for safe rides, FREE NOW recommends its partner drivers to fully disinfect the passenger compartment once a day, and after each ride to disinfect door handles and other surfaces that passengers come into contact with.

FREE NOW is making every effort to extend help to doctors beyond Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, to other cities in the country where the application is available, and the Initiative is also supported by the yeParking application, which currently gathers a community of 10.000 drivers .”
