Facebook bought Giphy for Instagram integration

Facebook surprises everyone with a completely unexpected decision taken in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic, the company showing the whole world that it is still in a very good position at the moment, despite what some thought.

Facebook made the decision to buy the famous Giphy platform for the sum of approximately 400 million dollars, and intends to integrate it into Instagram and other own applications in order to offer its users new options for using images from the platform.

Facebook has bought one of the largest GIF image websites on the Internet, giving users tools to create, share, or combine GIF images of various types to send to friends around the world right now.

Facebook has already integrated Giphy APIs into its services for some time, so we are not talking about any immediate change that users will see following this acquisition, but for the company it is a very important move in the Coronavirus pandemic.
