New WhatsApp Features RELEASED after YEARS of Days of Waiting

WhatsApp has new functions that we have been waiting for for many years for iPhone and Android, here is what is finally offered to us from the Americans.

WhatsApp encryption

WhatsApp has two major new features released today for the app that can be used in phones around the world, and they come after many years of waiting. Both features are currently in full beta testing for both Android and iPhone, so they're not yet publicly released, but they'll be coming soon to everyone, and that's extremely good news, because we have been waiting for them for a very long time.

WhatsApp first of all, it has implemented a function for the iPhone that finally gives us the possibility to encrypt iCloud backups so that all pictures, messages, and video clips cannot be decrypted. The function is a very important one because if Apple should hand over to the authorities data from an iCloud backup, the content saved by the WhatsApp application will not be able to be accessed by the people trying to extract the information.

WhatsApp will therefore be able to offer us for iCloud what it also offers for the backups available in Google Drive, i.e. a theoretical total encryption of the information that is saved in the backups. Apart from that, the WhatsApp application has also implemented the option to create a QR code so that another person can quickly add us as a contact, without going through the process of adding the phone number as a contact in their address book .

WhatsApp it should have had a function of this kind for a very long time, as many other messaging applications have implemented for their users all over the world, but it came with difficulty. The function simplifies so much the process of adding a person as a contact in the WhatsApp application that probably a lot of people will use it, it being available in the settings menu, easy to access, so that new friends can add us very easily.

WhatsApp is testing these features, most likely for a few weeks, and will release them publicly when they are ready, which could happen only in the summer.
