Facebook fights EU transfer of US data

Facebook is fighting with the European Union not to be prohibited from transferring user data between Europe and the US, which is exactly what it is doing now, and has asked the courts in Ireland to cancel a decision of the European Agency for Data Protection, which prohibits all the trial.

Facebook needs people's data to make money, this being known by everyone, but the European authorities do not really agree with the way the data is transferred, so they want this whole process to be stopped quickly.

Facebook transfers data based on an agreement signed between the US and the European Union, but the European authorities claim that its provisions should not apply, so they ordered it to stop the data transfer, so now everything is moving to the courts of judgment.

"Facebook is firing its lawyers to try to block EU regulators from forcing it to suspend transatlantic data transfers following a landmark ruling by Europe's top court this summer. The tech giant has asked judges in Ireland to seek a judicial review of a preliminary suspension order, it has emerged. Earlier this week, Facebook confirmed that it had received a preliminary order from its main EU data regulator – the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) – ordering it to suspend the transfers.”
