Facebook: HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of Dollars Paid to Users

FacebookJ is the largest social network in the entire world, and recently it was forced to pay a considerable amount to solve a problem that it faces in many areas of the globe, but which it ignores everywhere, when it can to stay.

Facebook has decided to pay 650 million dollars to users in the state of Illinois, USA, to end a lawsuit in which it was accused of not protecting users' data well enough, which represents a possible record in the matter.

Facebook pays 650 million dollars, but a third goes to lawyers, and covers other administrative expenses, while the rest are divided between 1.57 million people, who would receive approximately 300 dollars each.

"Facebook Inc. will pay only about a quarter of the 6 million Illinois residents eligible for the largest consumer privacy settlement in US history. Based on a tally filed in court after Monday's deadline for claims, about 1,57 million people will likely collect more than $300 each — after about a third of the $650 million settlement fund is set aside for attorneys and administrative costs — from a lawsuit in which the social network was accused of collecting biometric images from its photo-tagging feature without consent.”
