Romanian government 8 million doses of coronavirus vaccine

The Romanian government has ordered another 8 million doses of the vaccine against the Corona virus for the citizens of Romania, these will be delivered as part of the order made by the European Union for the citizens of the community during the last year.

The Romanian government requested 8 million doses from the 200 million additionally negotiated at the European level, and they will join the 12.780.080 million doses that our country was already going to receive from the European authorities.

"We provide the vaccine doses necessary to immunize as many citizens as possible who want to protect themselves from COVID-19.

Today we approved the transmission to the European Commission of the request that Romania benefit from another eight million doses of the BioNTech / Pfizer vaccine from the 200 million additionally negotiated at the European level.

It is, more precisely, the request for another 8.055.394 vaccine doses, which will be added to the 12.780.080 million doses produced by BioNTech / Pfizer and already contracted by Romania. In other words, vital doses that will ensure the immunization of 10.417.737 people, who can return to a normal life.

In addition to the BioNTech / Pfizer vaccines, we also have the 3.408.215 doses produced by Moderna and already contracted by Romania.
Every vaccinated person means more lives saved and an extra step won against COVID-19.”
