Contakt, a large chain of distributors of accessories for mobile phones, announced a partnership with Vox, a premium service authorized by Apple in Romania, to collect iPhones and AirPods for repair under the warranty offered by Apple.
"Bucharest, January 25, 2021 – The retailer Contact, leader in the distribution of accessories and technologies dedicated to mobile devices, announces the partnership with Vox, the longest running Apple Premium Service Provider in Romania, for the diagnosis and repair of Apple devices.
As part of the partnership, Contakt will have the role of collector for iPhones and AirPods for the Vox service from Timisoara. In the first phase, the collection service is available in the Hoco store in ParkLake Bucharest and in the Contakt locations in the Coresi Brașov shopping center and Vivo! Cluj-Napoca, to be expanded nationwide this year, in all over 200 Contakt locations in Bucharest and 36 counties.
Through the packages offered based on the partnership, users will benefit from premium services that include: device testing, diagnosis, UV cleaning and disinfection, to which is added safe transport between the Timisoara service and Contakt locations. Once in Vox service, a representative will contact the owner by phone to inform them of the existing problem and if it involves any additional repair costs. Finally, the device is sent back to the location where it was picked up. Transport is carried out in special packaging, which includes boxes intended for safe transport.
According to Contakt representatives, the necessary steps for users to take to return devices to the retailer's collection locations are: remove covers and/or protective films, make a data backup, disable the phone's passcode or reset it and disabling your iCloud account. Afterwards, in Contakt locations, customers will fill out a collection sheet with the description of the problem encountered, which is packed together with the device, to be sent to the Vox service in Timișoara. According to Vox's estimates, the average time to fix a defect for shipped Apple products will be about 7-10 business days, depending on the problem encountered.

According to Vox data, among the most common problems for which iPhone models end up in service are: mechanical defects, contact with liquids, problems related to the screen, sound or charging. The number of entries in the Vox service for the iPhone section averages around 1000 phones per year. As for AirPods, the company reports that the most common problems experienced by users are related to poor sound quality or poor connectivity with the source device for sound. "
