The Romanian Police has issued a very serious warning for millions of Romanians all over the country, and we are talking about something that should be on everyone's attention because the situation is as serious as it can be, and it is not the first announcement of this kind.

The Romanian Police presents below some situations from last weekend in which it was present on the public roads in Romania with radars and discovered a series of problems that would not have been discovered if the cars had not been present on the road.

"On the 13th and 14th of March this year, the policemen of the Highway Brigade from the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police continued their actions to prevent road accidents, with daily activities being carried out in order to detect those who endanger traffic safety, by violating legal norms.

As a result of traffic irregularities, 646 contravention sanctions were applied, of which 203 for irregular speed, 237 for not wearing a seat belt, 10 for lack of ITP, another 10 for technical defects, 3 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 2 for overtaking irregular, and 7 for unjustified parking in the emergency lane.

Another 17 sanctions were applied to OG 37 regarding the establishment of the framework for the application of the rules regarding driving periods, breaks and rest periods of drivers and the use of their activity recording devices, and 13 to Law 55/2020, regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As complementary measures, 32 driving licenses were withheld. Of these, 23 were for driving at excessive speed, 4 speeds being over 200 km/h.

Also, the police detained 3 other driving licenses for drinking alcohol at the wheel.

At the same time, 18 registration certificates were withdrawn.

The police found 8 crimes, most of them related to the traffic regime.

Examples:

On Saturday, the Autostrazi police detected, on the A1 highway, a man who was driving a car at 212 km/h. Also, the driver was tested with the Drugtest device, and the result was positive for cocaine. In the case, a criminal case was drawn up.

Also on the A1, a man was spotted driving a car at 184 km/h. Also, the driver did not have a driver's license, for which a criminal case was filed.

On A2, they spotted another man, driving a car, who, following the request for documents, presented a driver's license (Republic of Moldova) that did not correspond in terms of form and content. Following further investigations, it was confirmed that the man does not hold a driver's license for any vehicle category, and the license in question is fake. Investigations are carried out as part of a criminal case.

Another man was detected, on the A1, while driving a car under the influence of alcohol. After testing with the alcohol test device, a value of 1,27 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air resulted. A criminal case was drawn up.

On Sunday, the police stopped a man driving the car without wearing a seat belt on A 2 for control. The driver handed over to the control a driver's license similar to those issued by the competent bodies in Israel. After examining the document, it was found that it contained elements of forgery. The man does not hold and has not held a driving license in Romania. He was taken to the police headquarters, for further investigations, being penalized for not wearing a seat belt. A criminal case has been drawn up and investigations are continuing."
