WhatsApp compresses pictures and videos sent through the platform without users being able to do anything to stop it, but there is still a trick you can use to get over this limitation. More precisely, sending pictures as if they were documents blocks their compression process, so that WhatsApp sends everything at the original resolution at which the pictures were recorded, so they will reach the normal quality to our interlocutors.
WhatsApp allows us to select documents for sending from dedicated applications on iPhone and Android, in the case of iOS it is mandatory to use Files, which is installed by default in iOS. If you save your photos there, WhatsApp will allow you to send them as if they were documents, and in the case of Android you must use an application that allows you to manage files from your phones, everything being very easy to do, if you look carefully.
WhatsApp has its own reasons, and in the end quite good ones, to prevent sending pictures in original quality, but the existence of the option to send pictures without being compressed would also be useful.
