CNSU Relaxation of some Rules for Entry into Romania from August

CNSU has published a decision that will be adopted by the Romanian Government and that will change the rules regarding entry into our country, the main change being allowing children up to 6 years of age to enter without testing before arriving in the country.

Changes for the entry into Romania of children up to 6 years old

Art.1 – Decision no. 43 of 01.07.2021 of the National Committee for Emergency Situations regarding the approval of the list of countries/territories of high epidemiological risk, the criteria on the basis of which they are established, as well as the rules for applying the quarantine measure to persons who
arrive from these in Romania, published in the Official Monitor of Romania, Part I, no. 658 of July 2, 2021, is amended and supplemented as follows:
1. In article 3, paragraph (2), letters d) and e) are amended and will have the following content:
,,d) children aged less than or equal to 6 years, without the need to present the negative result of an RT-PCR test for infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus;
e) children older than 6 years and younger than 16 years, if they present a negative result of an RT-PCR test for infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, carried out no later than 72 hours before boarding (for those who traveling with public transport) or entering the national territory (for those traveling with their own means);"
2. In article 4, letters d) and e) are amended and will have the following content:
,,d) children aged less than or equal to 6 years, without the need to present the negative result of an RT-PCR test for infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus;
e) children older than 6 years and younger than 16 years, if they present a negative result of an RT-PCR test for infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, carried out no later than 72 hours before boarding (for those who traveling with public transport) or entering the national territory (for those traveling with their own means);"
3. In article 5, letters d) and e) are amended and will have the following content:
,,d) children aged less than or equal to 6 years, without the need to present the negative result of an RT-PCR test for infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus;
e) children older than 6 years and younger than 16 years, if they present a negative result of an RT-PCR test for infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, carried out no later than 72 hours before boarding (for those who traveling by means of public transport) or entering the territory
national (for those traveling with their own means);"
4. In Article 9, letters c) and d) are amended and will have the following content:
,,c) children aged less than or equal to 6 years, without the need to present the negative result of an RT-PCR test for infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus;
d) children older than 6 years and younger than 16 years, if they present a negative result of an RT-PCR test for infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, performed no later than 72 hours before boarding (for those who traveling with public transport) or entering the national territory (for those traveling with their own means);"
5. After article 9, a new article is introduced, art. 91, with the following content:
Art 91
(1) Members of sports delegations arriving in Romania to participate in sports competitions organized on the national territory, from countries located in the red zone of epidemiological risk, are exempted from the quarantine measure established according to the provisions of this decision, if they present a negative result of an RT test- PCR for SARS-CoV-2 infection performed no later than 72 hours before entering the country and only participates in activities within the mentioned competitions.
(2) The exception provided for in para. (1) also applies to foreign or stateless citizens, defined according to Government Emergency Ordinance no. 194/2002 regarding the regime of foreigners in Romania, republished, with subsequent amendments and additions, who are part of the sports delegations arriving in Romania to participate in sports competitions organized on the national territory, regardless of the epidemiological risk zone in which the country from arrive, if they present the negative result of an RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 infection carried out no later than 72 hours before entering the country and only participate in activities within the mentioned competitions.
Art.2 – This decision is published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I and is communicated to all components of the National Emergency Management System, for implementation through orders and administrative acts of their leaders.
