Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Cases March 13, 2022

The coronavirus remains a source of concern in Romania, and in many areas of Europe, during this period when in some countries the number of new cases is starting to increase again, and many civilized countries are in no hurry to completely abandon restrictions, even if they have rates of vaccination much higher than Romania.

The coronavirus is still spreading across the community in Romania, according to Romanian Government officials, which means that we must continue to be extremely vigilant, even if there are no restrictions regarding preventive measures, but either one has the freedom to protect themselves, or no, he wants anyway.

The number of new cases is constantly decreasing during this period, and this led to the total change of the vaccination campaign, which is no longer focused on vaccination centers, but will move to family doctors, where they can be done with the exclusivity of vaccines against COVID-19 starting from the following period.

"In the last 24 hours, 1.626 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, 1.117 less than the previous day. 180 of the new cases in 24 hours are from reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized.

**As for cases from abroad, these are cases of citizens who came to Romania having been infected in other countries. These cases were included in the total number of new cases not allocated by county.

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 172 people were reconfirmed positive.

In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 3.716, 115 more than the previous day. Also, 580 people are hospitalized at ATI, 15 less than the previous day. Of the 580 patients admitted to ATI, 520 are unvaccinated.

Of the total admitted patients, 230 are minors, 228 being admitted to wards, with 44 more than the previous day and 2 in ATI, similar to the previous day.

DEATHS
Until today, 64.361 people diagnosed with SarsCov-2 infection have died.

Between 12.03.2022 (10:00) and 13.03.2022 (10:00) 26 deaths (13 men and 13 women) were reported by the INSP, of which 5 were before the reference interval.

Of the 26 deaths, 2 were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 7 in the age category 60-69 years, 5 in the age category 70-79 years and 12 in the age category over 80 years .

25 of the registered deaths are of patients who had comorbidities, and for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities have been reported so far.

Of the total of 26 deceased patients, 22 were unvaccinated and 4 vaccinated. The vaccinated patients were aged between 60-95 years.

tESTING

In the last 24 hours, 7.791 RT-PCR tests (3.283 based on case definition and medical protocol and 4.508 on request) and 10.417 rapid antigen tests were performed. Until this date, at the national level, 12.600.333 RT-PCR tests and 8.944.496 rapid antigen tests have been processed."
