WhatsApp has many millions of users in Romania, being by far one of the most popular messaging platforms in our country, but unfortunately many people do not know what dangers they are exposed to within it. The most recent example regarding the danger that WhatsApp represents has in the center the cloud of toxic smoke that was supposed to suffocate Romania today, but which in the end did not come, although it was expected by too many naive people, unfortunately.
WhatsApp was the platform through which this misinformation regarding the toxic cloud was spread, and both the DSU and the Romanian Government published information to refute what was said on the social network. The problem is so big that lies of this kind can reach a large number of people very quickly, and can create panic, which of course we have seen before this spring with gasoline, diesel, oil, fine oil, etc. .

Despite the fact that WhatsApp has implemented various methods by which it has tried to reduce the spread of fake news, the reality is that it has no way to do this as long as there are people willing to do harm, but also people who are willing to believe almost anything .
WhatsApp can be a source of very dangerous lies, unfortunately, and everyone must learn how to distinguish between valid, real information and false information. In general, it is very important to see where a certain piece of information comes from, and from whom it started, the credibility of the source being the essence of any type of information, and unfortunately in WhatsApp, the person from whom the piece of information originated is quite easily lost in a chain of messages distributed in the platform.
WhatsApp has tried over time to implement various methods to reduce the spread of false information in its platform, but it has never succeeded in doing much, and this is a major danger for us.
