Orange published a last-minute announcement for millions of customers all over Romania, informing people about an important decision that they should know about at the moment. If you use mobile phone, internet, television services, or even if you are not an Orange customer, you should know that from now on, fixed internet subscriptions with speeds of 2 Gbps are available, with details in this page.

Orange offers all Romanians the opportunity to benefit from these subscriptions for using the Internet in everyday life, speeds up to 2 Gbps, or 1800 Mbps real, are available in limited quantities. Orange says that it offers these fixed internet subscriptions at prices starting from 37 LEI per month for customers of mobile telephony services, or 47 LEI for those who do not have services of this kind, even if they have television services.

Orange offers this new type of fixed internet subscription only in certain areas of Romania, where the infrastructure is good enough to facilitate access to this internet speed for customers. According to those from Orange, the maximum internet browsing speed, download, etc., is 1.8 Gbps, but in the case of uploading it offers a maximum of 940 Mbps, but the "normal" download speed is only 571 Mbps, the same as in the case of subscriptions 1 Gbps.

Orange also says that within fixed internet packages with speeds of up to 2 Gbps, a Wi-Fi 6 router is also offered for customers who also have television subscriptions, and Norton Security is also included for 2 months free of charge. Orange is trying to keep up with RCS & RDS, which also offers customers the opportunity to benefit from internet speeds of 2.5 Gbps or 10 Gbps, but it is still far from what its competitor can offer.

Orange has announced speeds of up to 10 Gbps for companies in Romania, but for now there is no such thing available for domestic customers, although it is not excluded that this will happen in the not too distant future.
