Minister of Education: Last Minute Official Decisions with Measures in All Schools

The Minister of Education announced no less than 6 very important Government decisions that were adopted for students in Romania, and that will bring great changes in schools throughout the country, they being thought to solve problems and improve the educational act.

The Minister of Education talks below about one of these decisions, the purpose of which is to improve the standards for evaluation, accreditation and authorization of schools in Romania so that students have the best experiences when attending the courses of educational institutions.

"I will present you the six government decisions adopted today... I say it with appreciation and friendship, Mr. Secretary of State. Six government decisions. Two were low impact, rather formal. It is a government decision to update the inventory value of some immovable assets under the administration of the Central University Library.

A second government decision that concerned the payment of the contribution to the conference of the minister of education in francophone countries. Romania being a member state of Francophonie, the Minister of Education is also a member of this structure. It is about a contribution from Romania of 7.622 euros annually, so two formal government decisions, but the following ones are of major impact. It is a government decision that approved the tuition figure for the school and academic year 2022-2023 for state pre-university education and for state university education.

It is about a Government decision by which the evaluation standards for granting authorization and for accreditation were adopted. Also the methodology, another Government decision, through which these standards are implemented. In essence, it is about the elimination of bureaucracy, it is about an evaluation of schools that should focus on the educational act.

It is about an elimination of the passion to focus on the elaboration of often redundant documents to the detriment of the educational act. It is a very important step, these documents are elaborated in the sense that the evaluation must be collegial, it must focus on the didactic act.

The sanitary side, or fire or earthquake safety, will be dealt with by the specialized institutions, namely the Public Health Directorates and the Emergency Inspectorates. The structure of the ministry will focus on the quality of education. It is only a first step towards the elimination of bureaucratic redundancies in the process of evaluation, approval, authorization, and accreditation of Romanian schools."
