Minister of Education: Decision of National Necessity with Impact on Millions of Romanians

The Minister of Education National Necessity Decision Impacts Millions of Romanians

The Minister of Education is talking about a very important decision of national necessity that has an impact for millions of Romanians from all corners of Romania, and this is because teachers are being forced to stop meditating with students in their own classes starting from 2022.

The Minister of Education says that teachers should only meditate with students of other classes or other schools, so that there is no conflict of interest, but he also talks about the ANAF solution for those who meditate on a regular basis, the creation of PFA- for income taxation.

"From my point of view, as a minister, I know very well that meditations are a phenomenon in every state of this world, including in states with an education system considered to be very advanced. I say that it is not normal to prevent a parent who wants to invest in the education of his own child, it is absolutely normal, we must say this.

What I said, I said that it is not ethical to meditate with your own students in the class. You enter into a conflict of interests, you enter into a situation where you can disadvantage the other students in the class who do not meditate with the class teacher. This is what I want to avoid in the education system.

Furthermore, meditating with other students, from other schools, is absolutely normal, especially since I know very well that teaching activities are exempt from VAT, for example. I think I also heard the head of ANAF with a reasonable solution, within the legality, as an authorized natural person for those who do these meditations in a transparent way and with a total elimination of the hypocrisy and the conflict of interests generated by doing meditations with one's own students from the class.

I don't want to get out of the interest of education. I said that from the point of view of education, those who do not respect the existing rule since 2018, order 4.381, which forbids a teacher to meditate with his own students in the class, could be sanctioned.

Whatever you build in education, you build on trust, and as long as we aim to restore the prestige and social status that a teaching staff deserves, the more you rely on trust. In parallel, we lift this ban from the minister's order to the level of law."
