WHO The reasons for the large increase in the number of cases of Coronavirus in the world

The WHO has revealed, through the voice of the Director General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, what are the main reasons why the number of new cases of Coronavirus has increased so much all over the world recently, in some European countries already generating new waves of infections, in despite the high rates of vaccination and passing through the disease among the populations.

The WHO says that the first reason behind the increases is the dramatic reduction in testing people, something that was done much more frequently in previous waves, and now the authorities do not have a real picture of the number of infections, and this also prevents the treatment of sick people in time, which in some cases it can lead to death.

The WHO also says that the new treatments, especially the antiviral ones, have not reached the poor countries of the world, so the population that needs them does not have access to them. The third reason is related to the fact that immunity disappears over time, regardless of whether we are talking about vaccination or going through the disease, so infection is not prevented.

The WHO says that the fourth reason is related to the disease called long COVID, which occurs in some of the infected patients, and this puts additional pressure on public health systems, which in certain situations prevents the provision of the necessary treatments for those who become infected without having this disease, and thus the virus spreads more easily.
