European Commission: Plan to Reduce Gas Consumption in Winter

European Commission Plan to Reduce Gas Consumption During Winter

The European Commission has published information on the steps being taken to reduce gas consumption in the European Union in such a way that Russia can no longer blackmail European countries by cutting gas deliveries, the decision taken by European leaders being difficult, but necessary in the given context.

The European Commission says that it has increased gas imports from countries other than Russia by 75% to compensate to a certain extent what the Russians no longer deliver, but even so, consumption savings are needed to get through the winter in decent conditions, and below you can see the plan presented by the European institution.

"Europe is facing the risk of new gas supply cuts. We already receive 75% more gas from other countries than in 2021. But now we need to save gas to fill our storage faster. This week EU countries agreed to cut their gas consumption by 15%."
