Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Cases September 20, 2022

The coronavirus is still present in Romania, with thousands of new cases of infection registered every day in our country, and this in the conditions in which we are talking about a virus that is transmitted with intensity in the absence of measures to prevent the spread, as happening now

Romania easily passed the 6th wave of infections generated by the Coronavirus, something that does not exactly come as a big surprise, and this is because this is what the authorities are expecting when they talk about the 7th wave of infections.

The coronavirus could generate a new wave of infections throughout Romania in October, just like in other European countries, but it remains to be seen how aggressive it could be in the end, especially if a new strain does not appear.

"In the last 24 hours, 2.303 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, 1.336 more than the previous day. 575 of the new cases in 24 hours are of reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 94 people were reconfirmed positive.

In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 1.562, 142 less than the previous day. Also, 124 people are hospitalized at ATI, 3 less than the previous day. Of the 124 patients admitted to ATI, 114 are unvaccinated.

Out of the total number of admitted patients, 161 are minors, all of them admitted to the wards, 46 less than the previous day and 0 in the ICU, 2 less than the previous day.

Until today, 66.937 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died. In the interval 19.09.2022 (10:00) – 20.09.2022 (10:00) 16 deaths (10 men and 6 women) were reported by the INSP, 4 deaths being reported before the reference interval.
