NATO published a very important announcement regarding the tensions registered in recent days between Kosovo and Serbia, they reached the point where the Serbian army was put on high alert, but things calmed down in the last 24 hours, and tensions dropped significantly between the 2 countries.
NATO says that it is monitoring very carefully what is happening in Kosovo at the moment, but also what Serbia is doing, being prepared to intervene in the situation where things degenerate, this being the mandate that the UN gave to the organization to maintain peace in that region.
"#NATO welcomes efforts to reduce tensions in northern #Kosovo. We expect all parties to honor their commitments. NATO forces in Kosovo are closely monitoring and stand ready to intervene if necessary, in line with its #UN mandate to maintain freedom of movement."
