The Romanian Post Informs Romanians, What Many People DID NOT Know

The Romanian Post has published an official notice that it wants to bring to the immediate attention of millions of Romanians, and this is because many do not know about what is being offered to them at the moment, specifically digital mailboxes.

Let's call her Andreea. He lives in Drumul Taberei, near the Ghencea Extension. Every day she wakes up at 6 in the morning, prepares the girl and the boy, takes them to school and kindergarten, then starts running through Bucharest traffic, so as not to be late for work.

She starts work at 09.00 and in her department lateness is not allowed.
Andreea works in the north of the Capital, in a corporation with such a demanding work schedule that she barely has a few moments left for her lunch break.
Since she is a mother and a career woman, time has become invaluable to her. He can't afford to waste a single minute.

In all the daily grind, Andreea has to find time to visit her mother, a pensioner, heart patient, quite difficult to move around. He does it on the way home from work because luckily my mom lives a few blocks away.

Andrea's mother, however, is addicted to some drugs that are hard to find in pharmacies. To get them month after month, Andreea would have to take all the pharmacies in line, until she found one that had them. Of course, he doesn't have that time.

However, he found the perfect solution. He periodically orders them online from a pharmacy in sector 4, which often has them in stock. So now he receives the package through the Romanian Post and picks it up when he has time, from the Post's digital mailbox. It is located on Constantin Titel Petrescu Street, a 5-minute walk from her house.

The box is accessible non-stop, night or day, godsend for her. That's how Andreea discovered that the self-service method of receiving a package works well for her. Basically, she picks up the package herself at any time she can, without depending on the courier or going to the counter.

In addition, the self-service method is also extremely simple: when ordering the package, it asks the sender to choose the digital mailbox as the delivery point. The sender accesses the Romanian Post's MyAWB platform and chooses the La Pachetomat service (that is, at the digital mailbox).

When the parcel arrives at the parcel machine, Andreea receives a notice from the Post Office via SMS or e-mail to go pick it up within 5 days. The received message also contains a code. Then, when he gets to the mailbox he types the code on the touch screen, pays with his card at the integrated POS and the box with the parcel opens automatically.

If she does not have time to pick up the package during the 5 days it is at the digital mailbox, Andreea will take possession of it in the classic way: the package goes back to the post office and she can pick it up from there later. In any case, it is not returned to the sender after the 5 days.

As you may have guessed, Andreea in our story is, of course, a fictional character. On the other hand, Andreea is, however, any of us, the busy ones, always fighting with time and the speed of daily things. For people like Andreea and not only, Romanian Post launched the first two digital mailboxes this summer: one at the Bucharest Post Office 66, on Constantin Titel Petrescu street, another in the city of Buftea (Ilfov county), at the local post office.

The Post Office is to roll out a further 3.000 digital self-service mailboxes across the country to eliminate customer waiting times. It is, on the other hand, another step it takes towards digitization and alignment with online commerce.
