Minister of Health Announces Decisions LAST TIME EARTHQUAKE Turkey Syria

The Minister of Health has officially announced a series of last-minute decisions following the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, but also the aftershock that followed, it being almost as strong as the initial earthquake, and below you can see the measures that have were decided by the authorities of our country now.

The Minister of Health talks about the help given from the country, but also about a request for Romanians to donate blood to be sent to Turkey to be used in the case of the thousands, and thousands, of victims who are being treated by the medical teams, or who will be taken out from under the ruins in the course of the next hours and days.

"The Romanian Ministry of Health stands in solidarity with the victims of the catastrophic earthquake that caused thousands of deaths and injuries in Turkey and Syria and offers support to the Turkish authorities. Immediately after the earthquake that severely affected communities in Turkey and northern Syria, the Minister of Health, Prof. univ. Dr. Alexandru Rafila contacted the ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Romania, Mr. Ozgur K. Altan.

To express solidarity and provide immediate support. Also, the Ministry of Health is in contact with the Romanian embassy in Ankara for possible requests and to ensure medical evaluation and psychological counseling for 10 Romanian students who are repatriated from the affected region.

The Ministry of Health, together with the Universities of Medicine and Pharmacy, is mobilizing health professionals who want to help as volunteers in forming medical teams that will be available to travel to the affected areas. At the same time, a blood donation campaign was organized for earthquake victims who need transfusions.

Medicines and sanitary materials are being prepared and can be made available to the Turkish authorities. More information on the registration of doctors and nurses as volunteers for the teams required to provide medical assistance and on the blood donation locations for earthquake victims can be found on the ministry's website. Numerous victims, many injured, immense material damage, it is our duty to help the Government of Turkey, the authorities who are struggling with the management of this crisis situation.

Health professionals in Romania together with the ministry, with the universities of medicine and pharmacy, are making an effort to organize teams of volunteers to move, in case of need, to the affected areas. Also, a blood donation campaign for the victims of this earthquake is underway, we are with our Turkish friends, but also with the wounded in northern Syria, with their families, to give them all the support."
