Defense Minister Officially Informs Romanians Decisions LAST TIME Republic of Moldova

The Minister of Defense made a series of important last-minute announcements for Romanians all over the country with decisions that were taken in connection with the Republic of Moldova, and this because after a new meeting with his counterpart from Chisinau, they talked about strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The Minister of Defense also talks about the support that Romania offers for granting special funds to the Republic of Moldova, and below you have information about the visit of the Chief of Staff of the Romanian Army to Italy, where the Romanian Army and NATO were also discussed.

"Today, I had a new meeting with my counterpart from Chisinau, Anatolie Nosatîi, on the sidelines of the visit I made to the Republic of Moldova, as part of the delegation led by the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu. We discussed the deepening of bilateral cooperation, the importance of the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the projects subsumed under the regional initiative Process of Meetings of Defense Ministers from South-Eastern Europe (SEDM) and the efforts of the partners from Chisinau to contribute to peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the UN and EU.

I also conveyed Romania's support for the Republic of Moldova within the EU - for increasing the funds allocated through the European Peace Facility, but also in the NATO context - through the mechanisms of the Defense Capacity Development Initiative. During the discussions, we reaffirmed our support for the advancement of the Republic of Moldova along the pro-European path, the importance of continuing to maintain the bilateral dialogue at the highest possible level and the continuation of joint efforts dedicated to strengthening the Strategic Partnership.

The agenda of the discussions included assessments of the regional security situation, the strengthening of bilateral and allied relations and the collaborative development of defense capabilities. Also, during the meetings, the dynamics of the two armies' participation in NATO and EU missions and operations were discussed, namely the emphasis on joint training at the level of all categories of forces in order to increase interoperability.

The Italian armed forces make a significant contribution to the implementation of allied measures in our country to strengthen the deterrence and defense posture on the eastern flank. At the same time, a relevant aspect in the cooperation plan is also the field of military equipment purchases and that of ensuring the maintenance of some elements of military equipment by Italian profile companies.

The program included the ceremony of awarding the "National Order of the Star of Romania in the rank of Commander, with peace sign, for the military" to Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, a distinction conferred by the President of Romania, as a sign of high appreciation of the constant interest and support given to our country.
