Minister of Health: Decisions with URGENT Measures Taken by the Government for All Romanians of the Country

Minister of Health Decisions URGENT Measures Taken Government All Romanians of the Country

The Minister of Health announces a series of decisions with urgent measures implemented by the Romanian Government, or prepared to be implemented, and this is because the goal is to avoid a general strike in the medical system, a Japanese one being already scheduled for on June 7 by a trade union federation.

The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, details below what was discussed with the unions, what was decided in their case, and what is intended to be achieved in the next period, but of course we are talking about measures that require time to be implemented in the way the health unions want.

"As far as the collective labor contract is concerned, it is practically finalized, and there must be an ordinance of the Romanian Government, which will regulate the number of vacation days. This happens in a week/two maximum. Likewise, the other measures with budgetary impact, I mean the vacation vouchers, will probably be resolved by July 1.

I did not discuss any moment related to the general strike in hospitals, at least with Sanitas, yesterday when we parted in the afternoon, there was no question of a general strike, especially since there is also a press release of this representative federation from the health system. Those from Sanitary Solidarity were examining the possibility of a strike, but only if...

Certainly the things on which we have agreed very clearly will be fulfilled, I don't think there is any other way, however it is not just about promises, it is about an assumption, and this must be clear to everyone. I don't want to get into discussions about the funding sources for the systems.

However, I want to say something obvious: if we do not turn education and health into a priority, and a priority does not mean only a declarative priority, but means a priority that leads to a course of 5-10 years, in which we know how they will evolve things in health, in education, from the point of view of income, i.e. to have predictability, then we will be able to solve these problems in time."
