Ministry of Defense Actions LAST TIME Romania Full War Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense officially informs all Romanians about the last-minute actions that took place in Romania, and this is because we are talking about a meeting that took place between representatives of the US European Command and officials from Bucharest, last week the past.

The Ministry of Defense explains below what exactly was discussed during this very important meeting, and this is because in the context of the war in Ukraine, we are talking about a very close cooperation that exists between our country and the Americans, and the good relations will continue in the future years.

"Officials of the Ministry of National Defense met, last week, in Bucharest, with representatives from the US European Command (USEUCOM) to discuss issues related to bilateral cooperation and the security situation in the Black Sea region. Brigadier General Mihail Iancu, deputy head of the Department for Defense Policy, Planning and International Relations.

And Brigadier General Bryony Terrell, USEUCOM's deputy director for plans, policies, strategy and capabilities, co-chaired the discussions of a new edition of the Romanian-American Joint Defense Committee. Topics covered included the legal framework for the joint committee and integrated efforts to implement security initiatives, agreements and security cooperation, with a focus on the Black Sea region.

"As we work together with our important ally, Romania, we recognize the need to deepen the security defense of the Black Sea to counter regional threats," said Maj. Mr. Terrell. "These periodic bilateral discussions are a pillar for building the framework of collective security initiatives designed to meet these needs and build strong and strategic relationships," highlighted USEUCOM's deputy director for plans, policy, strategy and capabilities.

In addition to providing military-level support to our country through exercises, training and other capabilities, the US and Romania have two deployment arrangements that support the US presence in Romania. These include the 2005 Defense Cooperation Agreement and the United States Missile Defense System Agreement, both of which provide critical deterrence and defense capabilities for Europe's eastern flank.

"Our partnership with the US is key to security in the Black Sea region and to modernizing our defenses. We are fully committed to supporting US troops in Romania as we improve cooperation and interoperability," said Maj.
