Schengen is still one of the biggest problems that the Romanian state is trying to solve, and that's because when Romania joins the Schengen Area, a very big unknown remains, which the MEP Eugen Tomac is trying to solve for us, stating that in the first part of 2025 could solve everything.
Schengen wants us, in proportion to 99%, and that's because only Austria is against our country's accession, something that has been said repeatedly, Chancellor Karl Nehammer avoiding confirming when Romania will join Schengen, but only saying what the problems are which our country still has, but nothing else, unfortunately.
Schengen is not an impossible goal to achieve, and this is because Romania has the capacity to enter the system, so it remains only to see how long it will take for everything to become a reality, Romania's accession depending on Karl Nehammer, but he could be forced to accept entry in early 2025.
"The most realistic term is in the first part of next year, during the Polish presidency. They will all settle down and I am confident that we will have more clarity and understanding from all governments. what Austria did is unacceptable and unforgettable, because the Romanians were unjustly sanctioned after 2022, through absurd measures.
All the more so since the Romanian state gave in without permission for a long time, concluding bilateral agreements with Vienna in addition to the Treaty and the Schengen Agreement. I believe that in the first part of next year, during the Polish presidency, we will find the necessary consensus, in order to reach our goal of definitive entry into the Schengen Area."
