Celeste or how to make fun of iPhone/iPod Touch owners

Apple is a company that feels the need to control everything, including the way users send files from their own terminal to others so that the Bluetooth of our iDevices can only be used to connect accessories. Almost 2 years ago, a developer thought that it would be good to extend the functionality of bluetooth and invented iBluetooth, an application that allowed us to send anything via Bluetooth to any phone. Of course, the project was abandoned in the meantime and the application stopped being compatible with iDevices that had iOS 4.x.

She was born 2 months ago Celeste's, another application that promised exactly the same functionality, only better. Everyone waited for it, asked for it, bought it, but in the end the application proved to be more than useless for users. I played with it a little at launch, it didn't work at all so I abandoned it. As soon as it became compatible with iOS 4.3.3, I installed it and found that it is just as bad and does not work at all, even more so it also causes errors in iOS. I could not send files on: a MacBook, another iPhone, an LG smartphone and a Nokia N8. In fact, I started the transfer on N8, it went up to 95% when it completely died. However, the fact that you can't send anything is only part of the problem because Celeste is neither able to recognize devices by their names nor to allow connecting to them.

Celeste turned out to be a very expensive joke that its developers are trying to forget by ignoring all the people asking for their money back. I wonder what credibility others will have in the future?

  1. According to me, the best Bluetooth data transfer application was iBLUENOVA (and it is for those with 3.x). Enter the application and from there select what and how to send (mp3, video, photo...).

  2. And naturally, not only Celeste's developers pretend to be raining, but also the owner of the appstore that facilitated this scam, namely saurik with his Cydia, a never-ending source of crappy applications (as the name suggests). What credibility does he still have, with his clandestine appstore and everything?

With all the problems and hassles this Bluetooth transfer causes (but what email does it have, why does it need Bluetooth at all?), it's no wonder that Apple chose not to implement it and save users from a lot of nerves and frustrations.

  3. Can you send songs by mail? Can you send videos in the original format? But if the person you are sending to does not have internet on their phone or does not want to download a few MB? But how long does the upload take?

  4. Such an application is needed, because it is very useful. The variant given by Tigris Regalis with the mail is obviously useless in certain situations. And besides, if the iDevice is equipped with Bluetooth, why can't we use it as much as possible?
These options should come from the official iOS from Apple.

  5. As far as I know, the application ran quite well on 4.2.1 when it was quite compatible. Now think that maybe it's not their fault, but the fact that Apple is no longer so easy to fool.

How many times have you really needed bluetooth and regretted that the iPhone doesn't have it?

  6. There was also MivTones, another application that was very good and was forgotten by the developers, even though I paid 10€ for it.
And since the iOS 4.1 version, there has been no update... too bad!

  7. It works for me Celeste, I got the cracked version.. and I transferred to a nokia n97 on my laptop and I only had small problems, something like errors with the top bar not being displayed correctly, and that the name does not appear on the phone or laptop, it only shows MAC .
My Iphone 4 16g neverlocked worked OK

  8. It's the biggest stupidity that the bluetooth on the iPhone is only for accessories. I have a friend who doesn't buy an iPhone because of this, even though he owns a 3500 euro iMac and I expected him to switch to an iPhone

  9. I think Apple would win even more iPhone buyers if they made bluetooth work for sending and receiving songs, pictures, etc. 🙂 ... it seems strange that the most desired gadget of the moment does not have a trivial function in iOS transfer via bluetooth which is found in most of the phones on the market at the present time... strange

  10. What is so hard to understand that sending a song from one terminal to another is called sharing, and is it illegal? For all others there is net. Wireless appeared integrated in telephones long after BT. Basically, if you really need to send something from one phone to another and it's not enough just to show them from your phone, there are a lot of solutions to do this via the Internet. On BT it says peer-to-peer, and that's not ok due to copyright.

  11. Illegal but tolerable since all phones are equipped with such a thing. Apple could conclude some agreements with certain record companies and solve the problem, but...

  12. a never-ending source of impudence, the sister of stupidity is @Tigris Regalis who takes on everyone, newer and saurik and cydia and all this just to pat on the back the apple company that is not able to offer certain minimum facilities in idevices their.
the fact that cydia exists has doubled or even tripled the success of the iphone.
    why don't you see this...

  13. @glm my opinion is that @tigris is very right here:
    1. Because Cydia has recently become a collection of completely idiotic and non-functional things
    2. Some of them cost a bag of money, only to realize later that they don't even work
And 3, but not last: disrespect of the "owner" of the site. If you call him to get your money back, he sometimes answers... and when he does, he's very angry.
Regarding "celeste"..., let's be serious, if you have an iPhone you also need internet, otherwise it's a simple phone that's not worth €6-700, and now there are a lot of sources to send something to someone (mail, Facebook, ym etc) and the receiver must not even be less than 10m away.
    A good day
