Noul mod de organizare al companiei Apple si motivul in baza caruia Siri si iOS 6 Maps au fost lansate cu probleme

  Incepand de astazi Apple functioneaza in baza unor noi reguli, 3 oameni avand in mana cele mai importante segmente ale companiei. Eddy Cue conduce divizia de internet care dezvolta iTunes Store-urile, iCloud-ul, Siri, iOS 6 Maps si orice are legatura cu serviciile de internet ale Apple, Craig Federighi dezvolta OS X-ul, functionalitatea iOS-ului si Jony Ive se ocupa de design-ul produselor, dar si de cel al interfatei iOS-ului. Practic acesti 3 oameni au in maini viitorul companiei Apple si deocamdata ei par a fi cei mai capabili sa aduca un suflu nou intr-o perioada in care Apple a facut destui pasi gresiti.

  Daca va intrebati de ce a facut Apple pasi gresiti, va spun ca termenele de dezvoltare impuse de conducere au cauzat probleme mari pentru ingineri. Cei din conducere stabileau anumite termene in care trebuiau produse anumite servicii, iar din cauza acestor termene Siri a iesit ca un produs beta, iar iOS 6 Maps a iesit ca un produs in mare parte inutil. Inginerii stiau despre probleme, conducerea stia despre ele, insa greseala de a impune termene de dezvoltare i-a fortat sa le lanseze pe piata si stim cu totii care a fost rezultatul.

The time-based schedule is one of the reasons why Siri and Maps arrived as half-baked products and were met with derision. Many engineers inside Apple could foresee problems with Maps. Why? Because Maps were driven by a time schedule. Maps and Siri are complex products whose dependencies (for the lack of a better word) go deep into different parts of the phone and even the network. The schedule-driven release culture makes folks less daring — why take arrows in your back for failing to deliver a radical new feature on a pre-dictated time? If this cultural warp continues, Apple might have a bigger headache on its hands. Ive’s appointment as the Human Interface honcho means that more risk-taking needs to come into the products.

  Multi analisti americani considera ca schimbarea facuta in cadrul Apple este benefica, Tim Cook se ocupa din nou de divizia de retail si el este extrem de priceput in acest domeniu, Jony Ive are ocazia de a imbunatati design-ul iOS-ului, lucru la care se pricepe extrem de bine, iar Cue si Federighi sunt maestri in propriile domenii. Teoretic anul 2013 ar trebui sa ne aduca produse Apple mult mai bune, insa ramane de vazut cum se vor descurca, cei 3 SVP cu atat de multe responsabilitati.
