iHound the application that finds the lost iPhone

You have probably already heard the famous case of the American who was robbed iPhone and managed to find it using the "Find my iPhone" location service provided by Apple by creating an account MobileMe. The case ended up being discussed on almost all American televisions and resulted in an increase in the sale of accounts for the MobileMe service, but it also contributed to increasing the safety of iPhone owners.

application iHound provides its users with a service similar to that offered by Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), by MobileMe, only at a much lower price and without too many complications. You basically buy the application from AppStore, then for the first 3 months you have free access to the service offered by it, which involves creating an account on the application website and registering the phone there. The service works like this: when you realize that the phone has been stolen, you log in to the website where you have a series of options; or choose to send a message SMS customized to your phone or choose one of the 3 message options that exist on the website, in addition there is the option to choose a song to play when the phone receives it (you will see in the video below what impact the song has). After selecting them and sending them the SMS a notification will come on the phone PUSH with the message and the song will start playing, the first thing the thief will think to do will probably be to unlock the phone (slide to unlock), at which point he will be greeted by a black screen or spoof screen. This screen practically hides Springboard site however, you can exit it by pressing the Home button. After receiving the SMS you can look at the map on the service's website iHound where will the position of the phone be shown, but for this service to work I assume that it is necessary that GPS to be activated all the time on the phone, although nothing is said about this in the video, only that the tracking is based on Pin's requested by the phone from the telephone operator's tower for reception the SMS.

Service it is very easy to use and very cheap at the same time: the application costs €2.39 and you get the first 3 months of free service, and to extend this period you will pay €2.99 for 3 months; €8.99 for 1 year and €15.99 for 2 years.

The application can also be found in AppStore Romania so I assume that it also works here, if you are interested in the service, then you can download the application from Ro AppStore from here.
