Video: ViewSonic ViewPad 10 – a dual boot tablet that will compete with the iPad

ViewSonic ViewPad is a new tablet recently launched by ViewSonic and SlashGear had the opportunity to do a little reviews her. The tablet has a 10.1-inch multitouch capacitive screen with a resolution of 1024×600, an Intel Atom N455 processor at 1.66GHz, 1GB RAM, a 16GB SSD, a 1.3 megapixel front camera for video calls, microSD card support. At the moment the tablet runs Android 1.6 because this is the only version of Android that supports Intel Atom processors, but because that version of Android is so old, ViewSonic thought to install Windows 7 Home Premium to offer users a much more pleasant experience. In essence, you can choose which operating system you want to use when the tablet boots, and as you can see in the presentation clip, Windows 7 is much more attractive than Android 1.6.

From the clip, the tablet seems to handle navigation through the system very well, it has no lag and the capacitive screen responds very well to commands. Unfortunately, Android 1.6 does not run very many applications intended for this operating system, but in Windows 7 users should have access to almost any program, the only constant impediments are the processor's ability to run those programs and the RAM memory, which is quite small .
