New redsn0w 0.9.6 beta 2 can jailbreak on iOS 4.2GM available since last night and this tutorial will explain the steps to follow to jailbreak your terminal. I DO NOT RECOMMEND you to update to iOS 4.2 GM for jailbreak yet because the applications available in Cydia are NOT yet compatible with iOS 4.2 GM, so you will not be able to use them in the vast majority. At the same time, Cydia IS NOT COMPATIBLE with iOS 4.2 and WILL NOT WORK, so you will not be able to install anything from Cydia because you will not have access to anything there. iOS 4.2 updates the baseband, so if you need decoding, DO NOT UPDATE because you will be left without the possibility of decoding and anyway ultrasn0w is not yet compatible with iOS 4.2 GM.
And finally, you must have the terminal registered in a developer's account to be able to use iOS 4.2 GM.
redsn0w 0.9.6 beta 2 is compatible with:

Step 1
Download iOS 4.2 GM and iTunes 10.1 beta 2.
Download iOS 4.1 for your terminal here:
- iPhone;
- iPod Touch;
- iPad;
- Apple TV.
Step 2
Update from iTunes to iOS 4.2 GM – I warn you again that you will be left without decoding and you will not be able to use the phone if you do not have it registered in a developer's account.

Connect the terminal to the PC, open it redsn0w, Press the Browse, select the iOS 4.1 custom ipsw downloaded in step 1 and press Next. CAREFUL!!! You must choose iOS version 4.1 to implement the jailbreak! redsn0w will implement the exploit and move on to the next step.
Step 5
Depending on the selected terminal, you will have several options displayed on the screen. My recommendation is to uncheck the option "Install Cydia" so as not to wake you up later with surprises. After checking the necessary options, press Next to move on.
Step 6
In this step, you must enter the phone in DFU Mode for redsn0w to implement the exploit. Follow these steps to enter your terminal in DFU Mode:
- hold down the power button for 3 seconds;
- without letting go of the power button, press the Home button for 10 seconds;
- after the 10 seconds pass, release the Power button and the phone should already be in DFU Mode and redsn0w will start implementing the exploit.
- If everything worked and the jailbreak was implemented then you should have this image displayed in redsn0w.
