A developer named James Whelton managed to do it jailbreak the current model of the iPod Nano device and first added an empty space in the gadget's Springboard to prove that everything he did was real. Ever since the launch of this device, there has been talk about the possibility of modifying it to install 3rd party applications, wallpapers or make other changes, and here it is now possible.

Next is the discovery in some of the device's lists of reference to support of Movies, TV Shows, Apps, Games, vCards, Calender events and so on, with a few other cool things like a passcode lock. With the bypass I figured out, I hope to enable these pretty soon. It seems like the OS is a rehashed version of the previous Nano's OS.

More interesting is that information was found in the operating system of this iPod Nano indicating that the device could run movies, applications, games, calendar applications, etc. in the future. Of course, we won't be able to watch movies and TV shows on it, but we may very well see Apple applications, but not now, but next year, because Apple has done enough this year.
