The idea of an article written by Libertatea caught my attention. They say that the average lifespan of a smartphone is 6 months and that the Motorola Razr was the best a few years ago blah blah blah and they post a picture of an iPhone 4. Apple is trying to convince us to change an iPhone once a year, every year, for about 4 years now with 4 models of iPhone terminals released up to now. We all know that an iPhone can work for several years without the slightest problem if it is taken care of properly, so the average lifespan of an iPhone would be around 2-3 years, they say. I recently saw someone's iPhone 2G and iOS 3.x is not very good and the battery is starting to show signs of fatigue.
Those from Libertatea quote an HTC spokesperson who claims that the life cycles of the terminals are reducing rapidly. I wouldn't say that the life cycle is reduced, but the support of the manufacturer who release new devices and forget about the old ones. It happened this year with the iPhone 3G, which Apple wanted to forget and in the end decided not to release iOS 4.3 for it. It will happen next year with the iPhone 3GS, while the iPhone 4 will occupy a second position behind the iPhone 5. My opinion is that manufacturers do not reduce the average life of a smartphone, but reduce its usefulness by not including some functions or not updating the software for him. A smartphone can work without problems for 2-3-4 years if it is maintained, but it will not be "up to date" with technology.
