Apple has problems with the production of LCD screens and speakers for the iPad 2

I knew that Apple has problems with the production of iPad 2 tablets, but until now I did not know what exactly prevents the company from Cupertino from covering the demand on the market. Those from iSuppli cites sources close to Apple's partner companies who claim that problems with manufacturing screens and speaker stocks for the iPad 2 are preventing Apple from delivering enough of many tablets. Tim Cook said a few days ago that Apple would have liked to sell 2 times more tablets than it has done so far, but it did not succeed due to production problems.

Those issues, according to the sources, included quality concerns with liquid crystal display (LCD) panels, production shortages of the new speaker, lamination issues with one of the touch suppliers and end-unit production shortfalls. While Apple is now on track to significantly increase its production volume in the second quarter, the company reportedly is still falling substantially short of its target production goal for April.

Apparently, Apple's partners have some problems related to the quality of the LCD screens in the iPad 2, and I assume that it is about the backlight bleeding problems that everyone complains about. I don't know if there are iPad 2 tablets that don't have any problems with backlight bleeding and it seems that Apple is aware of this problem and is trying to solve it. The second part of the problem is related to the insufficient stock of speakers for iPad 2, but that's not all. Apparently there are also problems with the lamination of certain components of the iPad 2, problems that contribute to delivery delays.

Tim Cook stated that Apple has solved a good part of the problems that have been reported so far by users, but only in a few weeks we will find out how right he was.
