Apple blocks access to the AppStore for old versions of iTunes

Probably few would have thought that Apple could block access to the AppStore for its own products, but here the Cupertino giant has taken the decision to prohibit access to the AppStore of old versions of iTunes. We talk about everything versions lower than iTunes 10, versions that for those with G3 or G4 Macs are essential to provide access to the AppStore. Considering that we are talking about 10-year-old computers, it is quite clear why Apple no longer offers support for them, but iTunes version 9 is only a year old.

Trying to go to the store's home page, or searching the store, simply brings this page up again, although the 'My Account' page (accessed by clicking your email address in the top right) works fine.

Whether you like the situation or not, you'd better switch to iTunes 10 if you haven't already because you can no longer access the AppStore using the old versions of iTunes.
