Today Seagate has announced the launch of the GoFlex Sattelite, a 500GB hard drive that can be accessed right from our iDevice. The Seagate Hard Disk has a special Wi-Fi interface that uses the application GoFlex Media allows iDevices owners to access the entire content of the product. Seagate says that their new hard drive has an autonomy of 25 hours, but it only plays movies for 5 hours, so a rather big difference and a rather small autonomy for video playback. However, this small hard drive can be accessed by any other device that has a Wi-Fi chip and the internal content can be viewed and managed through a web interface. For the most greedy, there is the possibility to transfer the content via USB, GoFlex Sattelite being equipped with USB 3.0 technology.
We can transfer almost anything we want from the computer to the GoFlex and then we can access that content from any other computer/laptop/iDevice. The device is very interesting but the bad part comes only now, it costs $200.
