Apple is working on a new screen model especially for those who wear sunglasses when using the iPad

A new invention patent it was registered to the Apple company and is related to the screens of our iDevices. The company takes care of iDevice owners who use them outside in the sunlight but also use sunglasses to protect their eyes. Apple claims that the use of sunglasses with current iDevices leads to a decrease in the viewing angle of the screen due to the fact that polarized sunglasses do not allow viewing images on the screen from certain angles due to the polarizing filters in the glasses. In short, the screen is polarized in a certain way, the glasses do not allow the light emitted by the screen to reach the eyes and from certain angles the screen appears dark and you cannot see images on it.

Hence a user looking at the LCD display of a portable device... may see a distorted image in the display when viewed through polarized sunglasses, due to the polarized filters in the sunglasses blocking the light when the display is viewed at some angles. The layer receives the linearly-polarized light on one surface, converts the linearly-polarized light to circularly-polarized light, and then emits the circularly-polarized light from another surface,” the application reads. "By emitting circularly-polarized light, the display reduces the perceived distortion found at some angles when the display is viewed through a linearly-polarizing filter.

Those from Apple have found a method to solve the problem by applying a new polarizing layer on the screens that will allow users who wear sunglasses to see the images on the screen without problems. This solution applies to the moments when the user uses the tablet outside, in strong light and needs sunglasses, in other cases the solution from Apple is useless because users would not have problems viewing images from various angles. Other tablets have similar technologies built in, and since Apple promotes the iPad as being good for anything in any environment, I think it will implement similar technology in the near future.
