Apple joins the board of Bluetooth Group

Today is a historic moment for the Apple company that was invited to be part of the board of directors of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group. The Bluetooth SIG is a non-profit organization that all companies using Bluetooth technology must join, but the board of directors must monitor the way the technology evolves and must review technology licensing requests made by new members. Apple will sit on the board of directors alongside big names such as Microsoft or Intel who have been part of the management of the organization for years. The Apple company will have a representative on the board of directors for the next 2 years, but of course the mandate can be extended.

Many accessories for iDevices use Bluetooth technology, but it seems to me a bit forced to include the Apple company considering the way it limits the possibility of using the Bluetooth of our terminals. iDevices only allow the connection of certain Bluetooth accessories but do not allow the sending of files through this technology and no, do not hope that things will change in the near future.
