A man from the USA installed in some Macs in Apple stores certain applications that he used to record images of people using those products. Of course, that software used to spy on customers was installed without the consent of those from Apple, and of course the US Secret Service took over the case and already confiscated computer equipment from the American man's home. Although everything was done for "art", the man will most likely be accused of breaking several laws and will probably be sent to prison because he set a dangerous precedent.
I thought maybe we could see ourselves doing this, we would think more about our computers and how we're using them," said McDonald. "We have this expression on our face [when we use computers] that basically says that we're not interacting with anybody, we're interacting with the machine.
It is interesting that the man displayed on Macs images of people using the products, but no one did anything, the people simply closed the images. The video above was made by the American man with the idea of demonstrating how people interact with technology and how they "see" the products on us. In the end, he believes that he did not break any law by what he did, but it will probably become clear by the end of the investigations that it is illegal to film people without their knowledge and it is illegal to install spy software in a company's computers.
