iPhone 5 lost in a bar and the story behind the story

A few days ago, the people from cNET sparked a real controversy in connection with an article in which they claimed that Apple lost a prototype of an iPhone in a bar in San Francisco. They claimed that Apple would have located the terminal and would have sent the police to recover it, but officially the San Francisco police does not recognize that he had received a complaint from the Cupertino company. Those from Apple have not commented anything on this topic, the San Francisco police deny the event and those from cNET should reveal the source that provided them with the information about the iPhone lost in July.

It is normal for the police not to recognize any action taken in favor of those from Apple, they have no obligation to do it and Apple probably asked them to keep silent if the action took place. It was said that the article was just an attempt by those from cNET to draw attention to them or a method of promoting the bar where the phone was lost, but I for one do not think that a publication like cNET lends itself to such things. The owner of the bar does not admit that he talked to the police about a lost iPhone, so nothing could be found out from him and everything remained incomprehensible.

Although the article from cNET is "dubious" from certain points of view, I think that everything boils down to 2 things: either cNET got the wrong information or Apple is keeping everything quiet so as not to wake up with a new terminal published on the Internet before the launch.
