The iPhone 5 could have an 8 megapixel camera manufactured by 2 manufacturers in Taiwan

It has been rumored since June that the iPhone 5 will have an 8 megapixel camera capable of recording HD in 1080p format, the change being seen as a normal step that Apple will take with the launch of the new terminal. Of course, until now the company from Cupertino has not provided information about the new device, but an article published by a Taiwan economic newspaper we understand that 2 suppliers of Apple's image sensors will also supply 8 megapixel image sensors for the iPhone 5. Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical have been collaborating with Apple since the launch of the iPhone 4 and the relationship between the 2 companies would could also extend to the iPhone 5 which could have an 8 megapixel camera.

The two companies are reported to continue supplying lenses for Apple's newest iPhone 5 with an 8-megapixel camera. With relatively higher production yield, Largan, commanding nearly 20% of the global market, will reportedly garner a big order from Apple.

It would not be abnormal at all to implement an 8 megapixel camera in the iPhone 5 considering that almost all smartphones on the market already have one. iPhone 4 is one of the most popular terminals when it comes to recording videos or photos, but iPhone 5 could surpass it without problems if it contains a camera with a better image sensor. The iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 were the first terminals that brought better cameras than the previous versions and I don't think that this year Apple will deviate from this tradition, especially since the iPhone 4 was so praised for its very good camera.

It is not known for sure who will supply the cameras for the company's new terminal, but the chances that the iPhone 5 will have an 8 megapixel camera are very high.
