San Francisco police continue their investigation into the case of the lost iPhone 5 prototype

A few weeks ago news of the loss of a new prototype of the iPhone terminal went around the world, the San Francisco police being involved in the search a house together with Apple employees. In the end, the incident turned out to be related to the iPhone 5 terminal, the San Francisco police being the one who confirmed without permission this. Then members of the police said that an internal investigation in this case will be started to discover the level of police involvement in the search of the house of a man who was believed to be in possession of the iPhone 5 prototype. As part of this investigation, San Francisco police officers they demanded the owner of the bar where the iPhone 5 is supposed to have been lost to provide them with the video recordings from the evening of the loss of the device, but after the request they did not return to collect the samples.

Lt. Troy Dangerfield, a spokesperson for SFPD, said he was not aware that investigators had gone to the bar or were looking for the videos. But he said that since Apple had not filed a police report, he was sure that there was no criminal investigation connected to the missing device. "In order for there to be a crime, you need a victim," Dangerfield said. He concluded that the request by police for the surveillance footage was likely part of the internal review launched this month by department officials into how police assisted Apple in a search of a home on July 24.

The current investigation is likely to involve police internal affairs detectives because a San Francisco police spokesman knew absolutely nothing about the video request. Those recordings will probably shed light on how exactly everything happened, if anything happened, and it would be interesting to see if Apple lied or even lost a prototype of the iPhone 5. This is the only interesting thing in this case considering that over 2 weeks we should see the device for the first time.
