There are hopes for the release of an untethered jailbreak solution on iOS 5.0.1

3 days ago Apple released iOS 5.0.1 for users, Dev Team informs us that we can no longer downgrade to iOS 5.0 and the world started to wonder how capable the team is to launch the untethered jailbreak solution that we were all waiting for. In the same evening, Pod2G announces that the exploit for untethered jailbreak discovered by him could still be available in iOS 5.0.1, but the problem is that its exploitation became more difficult after Apple blocked another exploit presented by Charlie Miller just a few days before. It's been three days since Pod2G's statement and for now he hasn't come back with information about his exploit, so until further notice there's still hope for a possible release of an untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 5.0.1.

It is very possible that the exploits from the Dev Team or Chronic Dev Team will still be available in iOS 5.0.1 but will be more difficult to exploit. For now, everyone has been warned to stay on iOS 5 because exploits can be easily implemented there, but I believe that the untethered jailbreak solution will be released compatible with the latest version of iOS, no matter what it will be. If you stayed at iOS 5, I advise you not to update to iOS 5.0.1 or the future 5.0.2 which could be released quite soon if we are to believe what Apple said a few days ago.
